Decide if you need a website or not to do your affiliate marketing. I think you should have one.

A website is a reflection of you and your business and is open for business around the world 24/7.

Affiliate Marketing Traffic

The two main ways to get traffic are SEO (Search Engine Optimization), and PPC (Pay per Click), there are numerous others but these two are the main two ways most people bring in the traffic (customers).

SEO is setting up you website in such a way that Google, Bing, and Yahoo like the layout and content, all of this is built on Keywords.

Keywords are words or phrases people type in browser searches. The more people search for something with certain words and or phrase the better that Keyword text is on your website helping people to find you and your online business.

The better the Keywords you use on you website the better your stats will be and the search engine will love you for it and reward you with a higher page rank.

The right keyword can make or break your bank so here is the place to put in the time and effort in research and selection of the keyword or words you will use on your domain (website) to build your list and earn money from your sales.

The more qualified people find you and your website the more profit you can make from your affiliate marketing.

E-mail Affiliate Marketing

Will you be doing email marketing? If so you will need a list of people to email.
There are many ways to create your list.

You can use Social Media like a Face Book Fan Page, Blog and Forum sharing, YouTube, etc.
You could buy, rent, or swap a list. You can use Media Buys.

You should have a Squeeze Page to collect names and email addresses of clients who opt-in to one of your promotion, helping to build a list.

You will probably need a sales funnel.

You should also consider an auto-responder to automate your email campaigns.

Most people bring traffic thru lists to a Squeeze Page where the prospect opts-in then an email might be sent to the prospect to see if they are interested in checking out the offer (double opt-in).

The second email has a link to the website where valuable content is awaiting the qualified prospect. When the client arrives at the website they arrive at a landing page view the desired content and are funneled to a sales page or offer.

There are many variations on this theme of Affiliate Marketing.
It boils down to: Traffic to Offer to Making Money.
